Sun, 10 June 2007 When is a band a live band? I went to a party and they were playing along with a sequencer or a more common name for this is a drum machine. Is this really live then? Would a DJ do a better job? Did the people dancing care? Would you like to have this at your wedding? This question has been around forever. Wedding Entertainers,DJs,Bands, which one is best for your wedding reception is up to you. Be sure to ask all the questions when you are shopping around for wedding entertainment. David

Sat, 3 March 2007 I spent all of last week at the Mobile Beat convention in Las Vegas. This is where I get to talk with Wedding Entertainers from all over the the country about new ideas for weddings. I had an idea to record some round table conversations for a podcast about weddings but there s just wasn't enough time to do it. We had tons of sessions and meetings about entertainment and by the end of the day, we just had enough time to have some small talk over dinner. I will be posting a round table wedding podcast show in the near future. This will be strictly wedding entertainers talking about weddings. I'm not sure if this will be a separate show or not so stay in touch with this feed. I did so much talking at the convention I got a sore throat and it hurts to talk. Well that's what my friends say. I just got sick and I was out of it for a while. I started to record a show and it was just to painful so I decided to put it off until next week. Sat, 10 February 2007 On Today's show I will talk about what options you have for your grand entrance and your toast. There has been a lot of talk about what should be said during the toast. Is this a time for stories? Or is it the proper place just to say congratulations to the bride and groom. You can do both if you plan it correctly with your wedding entertainer. When family and friends give their speeches, they tend to shy away from the microphone and can't be heard by everyone. One solution is to put the microphone on a stand. Ask your entertainer what type of microphone he will be using at your event. David Comments[0] |

Sat, 30 December 2006 I have performed at many events with live music. There is something to be said about live music at your wedding. Your are trying to create different moods at your event. The soft feeling of you and your husband walking down the center of the church and all of your guest turning as you walk past them. The music should be soothing to the ear and full of feeling. When I hear a guitar, that's the feeling I get. Ceremony music can very personalized to fit your needs. There is no set rule that says you have to play the wedding march. You have lots of choices and a wedding professional can you help you select your own style. Let's ask Philippo Franchini about how he performs at weddings and what it takes to give his clients that specail touch. You can get more information about him at philippomusic.com.Comments[2] |

Fri, 22 December 2006 I will be posting some music that I play at my events. I have still have not found a better way to get music then just buying the cd. The downloading of music is still not perfect or as easy as it should be. If you download a song from itunes you are stuck with that format and you can't transfer it. The best way is to just buy the cd and let itunes rip it for you into a mp3 file and then put your cd on the shelf for safe keeping. Now you have a file that can go anywhere. You can load it to any device that can play mp3's, even a cell phone. Your computer can crash, drop your cell phone and kill your mp3 player and still have a perfect copy of your music on your shelf safe at home. Remember that a cd is a better copy of the music then any mp3. I will cover more of these types of topics in my new show(weddings in the computer age). The first show will post in Jan. 2007 Category: Music -- posted at: 7:37 AM Comments[0] |

Sun, 19 November 2006 Just a DJ for your wedding? You need an wedding entertainer for your special day. Times have changed over the past ten years. Remember when you would go to your family weddings? You would see everyone and sit at the table quietly and wait for the bride and groom to walk in. There are no anoucements and no music and nobody knows whats going on. You have a great dinner and a piece of cake. You suddenly see a young man walking in carrying a big speaker and a load of records. Behind him is another young man carring another heffty load of records. Next walk in two young ladies dressed to kill with a beer in each hand. Who are these people your ask yourself. After running around and plugging stuff in, your hear in a very muffled voice " can we do the first dance now?" The music begins and is so loud and distorted it makes you cover your ears. The first dance is over and you now hear the muffled voice say," could we have the house lights turned down so we can show off are lights? " The music starts to blare and the house lights go off. This is where your mom and dad get up and tell you its time to go home. The older adults leave and all you have left is a bad copy of studio 54. This is not what a wedding is all about. There is a better way. A wedding entertainer is what you need. Lets speak with Mark Thomas owner of Awsome Entertainement and find out what it take to be a wedding entertainer.Comments[0] |
